Camp Rules
SL Message Program 99 Team 1999 Kit Lists Camp Rules Helpful Hints Duty Rota

All Scouts and Guides will observe the Country Code and Rules of the Road.

No Guide or Scout will leave the area of our campsite without the permission of the Duty Leader.

No Guide or Scout will sail, swim, canoe or otherwise propel themselves more than 25m from the launching point without permission of the Harbourmaster, or without wearing a buoyancy aid. Canoeists must stay in groups of three or more.

Text Box: It’s quite specific… a buoyancy aid must be worn for all boating activities!Visiting other patrol sites is encouraged to swap ideas and experience. However NO visiting by Scouts to Guide sites or Guides to Scout sites will be permitted after cocoa or before morning colours. There will be NO visiting by anyone to another site whilst the cooking, serving, eating and clearing away of meals is in progress.

Disciplinary action will be taken with Guides and Scouts contravening these instructions. The most likely outcome is that the parties concerned will be sent home.

If it is necessary for a Guide or Scout to get out of bed, they will be called by name and asked to leave their tent by a leader of the same sex.  If you have any problems during the night, contact the duty First Aider in the first instance. This will be a female Leader.

Long wave radios may be used to listen to shipping and weather forecasts, otherwise all audio devices including personal Walkman’s will be left at home.

Games may be taken to camp as long as they are multi player and not electronic.

All mobile phones belonging to Scouts and Guides WILL BE LEFT AT HOME

Leaders cannot be responsible for lost monies. It is recommended that all pocket money be deposited into the camp bank in advance or at least to be handed in on the coach. A maximum of between £20-£25 is recommended. We are remote from any spending opportunities. There will be a day in town but again Wroxham has very limited spending opportunities, except for McDonald’s. We will operate a tuck shop on site, there will be a daily spending limit and this spending will be deducted from the balance in the camp bank.

Inspections and flag break will be in uniform from the waist up, except on Sunday, which will be in full uniform. We are intending to attend the local Church of England Church service on the middle Sunday.

The Quartermaster will issue food every evening, between 16.30 and 17.00.

Patrols requesting stores outside this time will be liable for minor chores. Menus and suggested ways to cook the food will follow in full.

Do not walk through each others camp or through the Leaders camp.

There must be no noise after 22.00 or before 07.00.

Pick up any litter you see, it may not be yours but it makes the site untidy and could be dangerous to wildlife.

All injuries and illness MUST be reported to the MO, however slight. There will be a hurricane lamp lit outside the duty First Aiders tent each night.

All families of Scouts and Guides camping for the two weeks are invited to visit on the middle Sunday. Your son or daughter will be available from 10.30 until 17.00. Please do not arrive before 10.30, as we will be at Church parade. Please say goodbye quickly to your offspring on return to camp, as prolonged goodbyes tend to lead to homesickness.  All campers must be back on board for evening meal. There will be activities organised for those who do not get visitors, or for those who wish to stay on site with their parents.

Any Scout or Guide going ashore must report to the duty leader. Leaving their dog tag with him/her and report back to this leader on return to camp.

Text Box: Can you hurry back from hospital… our dinner is still in it!!!
