You should be able to declare your patrol fit for inspection at colours.
Make sure if you declare fit that you are, as you may be inspected straight
away. 2

Slacken guylines at night and when raining (NOT MAIN GUYS) 4
If the weather is dry in the morning, air your beds on their
groundsheets, before rolling up. 5

Make as many gadgets as possible to help yourselves. 7
Do not let anything touch your tent. If you accidentally touch your tent
when it is raining, run your finger down to the top of the wall. DO NOT hang
anything from the guylines or the ridge of your tent.

Only use wooden spoons or plastic spatulas on non-stick surfaces. Do not
use scourers or brillos on them. 10
Remember to put your
washing up water on as soon as you
have dished up, BEFORE YOU START TO EAT. Use very hot water for washing up, you have been issued with
washing up gloves (pink or yellow) wear them. 11
Put water in all pans used before sitting down to eat. 12
If you have burnt food onto the pan, put on the cooker, add a little
fairy and fill with water, bring to the boil and simmer. Again do this before
you eat. 13
Keep milk in a bowl of cold water, covered by a wet cloth and in the
shade. Your butter should get the same treatment if it is a plastic tub. 14
Keep your boxes clean and closed at all times, to prevent animal and
insect infestation. 15
To get a replacement box of matches you will have to produce the old box.
Also keep your matches in the tin. 16
Dispose of your rubbish bag while it is still easy to tie up and carry,
or at least once a day. 17
Make sure you clear up all spilt food. 18
All washing up water and liquid food must be tipped down your grease
trap. Your grease trap foliage must be changed every day, the old stuff will
need to be put in your rubbish bag or burnt. 19
Remember to put your dishcloth and scourer into diluted bleach every
night. 20
Keep everywhere as clean as possible 21
Your thunderbox needs emptying when it is between ½ and 2/3 full. This
will not necessarily be every day for the boys. Use blue gloves and plastic
aprons for cleaning out thunderboxes. Empty contents down the pit. Clean with
disinfectant and water. Add one container of blue to your clean thunderbox and
at least one gallon of water – boys, half a gallon - girls. |
